Why does Australian conservation group keep attacking Japanese whaling ship in Antarctic ocean?

What negative impact does the conservation group think the Japanese whaling ships has on the whales?
Are the whales on endangered species list? If so, why aren’t different governments enforcing the law against the Japanese & not the conservation group?

  1. Japanese whalers are NOT killing any endangered species. They are killing minke whales which have a bigger population than before any whales were killed by humans. They are not killing enough to stop the population from growing. It is a sustainable harvest and because it is done for scientific research purposes it is completely legal. some species of whales are endangered but they are not being hunted by the Japanese. Some endangered whales are hunted by indigenous tribes in the arctic but I don’t hear about many people protesting those hunts. If you want to prevent whales from becoming extinct leave the Japanese alone and start harassing some eskimos.

  2. The negative impact it has on whales is that the whales end up dead. So, from the perspective of the whale, that is quite negative. Unfortunately, the Japanese still eat whales.

  3. Watch "Whale Wars" and you see what is going

  4. Yes whales are very endagered. And they hunt them constantly none stop. Thats the negative imapct. No one is enforcing it on them because they are their own country. they have to do it themselves, we cant force them without starting a war. And they wont do it because they dont give two shits about whales.

  5. It’s Greenpeace, which is an International, not Australian, activist organisation that’s interfering with the whaling ships. The Japanese whalers are acting illegally by carrying out their activities in Australian waters. At some time the Australian Government will have to become more actively involved in policing our waters, because that’s what the majority of Australians expect. We have become besotted by whales.

  6. what else would you expect from a group that has terrorist link’s to other green crackpot movement’s.

  7. The Right whales are very near extinction, with a population below 500 maybe. Other species are desperate too. Most governments are too stupid to care. When the world runs out of these magnificent creatures I am sure that the people who should have protected them, will blame someone else for it, and then turn their backs and shrug.

  8. Recently, the conservative groups in Australia were getting crazy. They have equipped fearful weapons such as Crossbows and shotguns, almost alike Somali marine terrorists. They were desperate to prevent Japanese Whaling ships.
Besides, Japanese ships haven’t killed endangered species. It is just to check the populations and to make use for scientific researches.
Australia should stop massive killing of Kangaroos before claiming Whale protection.

  9. Alby, Jack Brown, and winterrules, you are all wrong. All whales are endangered. This is the list of whales that the Japanese are hunting; sperm whales, minke whales, blue whales, right whales, humpback whales, and fin whales. The whales are being hunted in Antarctic waters, not Australian waters, and these people are not terrorists, but people that care about the environment and the creatures living within it.

  10. It is a negative because the Japanese whaling ships are killing endangered animals, and the wimpy governments don’t want do anything because it is all about the money. And guy how dare you say that they aren’t killing enough minke whales!!!! They are being killed at almost a thousand a year, and these whalers are not doing this legally!!! Because they are fist of all killing in a sanctuary, second they are covering their butts under a loop hole in the system that says any "Research" whaling that has whale meat left over can be sold. So get your facts right moron!!!!! The Sea Shepherds are the only ones doing some thing about this.
