Why do people associate conservatives with denying climate change?
In Denmark, the right wing government is spending massive amounts of money to fight climate change!

The term "conservative" is used to describe someone who holds conservative views, e.g. They believe that the world should stay the same (keep the status quo and are sacred of change) and also they generally support business (another reason why the generally deny climate change).
In Australia we have had one of the biggest weeks in the country’s political history because the conservative opposition party cannot agree that climate change exists and that we should act on it. Maybe the conservatives in Denmark are a lot smarter than elsewhere in the world or maybe they realise (unlike the australian conservatives) that people want action on climate change and that it is the best way to garner votes.
In Australia the conservative party just elected a conservative leader who is not supporting an ETS. So this reaffirms my position.
Because "Global Warming" is a political agenda. It has nothing to do with science.
Because people don’t realize that most conservatives look at the reports and make up their own mind. When you have reports saying that something is driving the climate and what they theorize doesn’t happen in the time period then it is not true. In the last decade, greenhouse gas emissions have jumped but we haven’t seen the effects in total ppm or a corresponding increase in temperature.
For the people who think that conservatives are against change. Most of us don’t mind change if it still gives the individual freedom. We don’t like having our FREEDOM taken away from us for security. Also, with AGW and climate change it’s the liberals that don’t want change and have had to rewrite history to get rid of past warming periods.
I for one still believe that we are coming out of a mini ice age called the Little Ice Age and that man is adding only a small amount to climate change.
Its a circle of confusion as it is designed and intended to be. The goal is to occupy the attention of populace on the argument and the arguing parties, there by keeping them divided while they continue to wrangle money out of the tax payers for expanded budgets that can be filtered over into other programs. The other key factor is "what" is actually effecting global climate change and who’s private interest really stands to make or lose money on it.
If its carbon emissions or punching holes into the ozone layer it will effect industry. If its because the sun has actually expanded, as is common in the life of a sun as it prepares to go nova (which can take millions of years) there is little that can be done about it and no funding will really help or detour the ultimate end…The point is to keep your attention off of the real facts and to get more money from everyone. This is happening globally and the working class seems to be the one they want to pick up the tab once again.
Its american conservatives that deny climate change, not all conservative parties around the world
The term ‘conservatives’ in the US is often used in a different context. Whilst we often talk about Conservatives in the context of members of a Conservative Party, Americans use the term primarily in reference to people who hold conservative values.
Further, the US has more climate change skeptics than any other country. It’s probably the last country in the world that has a sizeable number of skeptics and one of the main reasons is that it’s a pretty new concept over there. Here in Europe we’ve been aware of climate change for several decades, in the US it only made it into the mainstream of society in the last few years.
Every cause of global warming is private individuals exercising their economic freedom.
Every solution to global warming is a massive government program that curtails economic freedom.
Who do you think would support /oppose such a thing?
Because in the United States there is a strong global warming denial movement, and it’s composed almost entirely of political conservatives. Australia is similar, but not as bad.
It’s true in most other countries the conservative parties aren’t in denial, and in fact are working to solve the problem. Nikolas Sarkozy in France is another excellent example. But American conservatives are a little bit backwards, to put it kindly. I mean heck, some of their most recent leaders are George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. They’re not the brightest bulbs in the box.
I should hope Conservatives are associated with objecting to the false claims of man made global warming. Conservaitsm is built on the foundation of reality. As we are now finding out, the claims by corrupt scientists and agenda driven politicians reveal the massive man made global scam of global warming.
