gas [petrol] and diesel are easy to find,,plentiful[no matter what the libs say] easy to transport,,,and efficient,,yes lots of miles for the dollar [rupee]

There is no good alternative source. Alternatives cost more money.
Same reason India can have 100% cell phone coverage, but can’t implement public toilets. There’s money to be made in phones but no money in a toilet.
