Why are people so insensitive about the environment?
I still see people throwing garbage out their car windows, wasting fresh water even in the most developed places. Why does this still happen after everything that is being said and done about the environment. Is this within human nature to not care about tomorrow?
It’s "the chicken little thing", or if you prefer another analogy "the boy who called wolf". The environment movement has often come up short on real science, so much so that many people simply don’t believe any thing that the environmental lobby has to say. Rubbish doesn’t look nice but does it really do much harm? As for water most of the rain that falls is used by trees, as much as 90%, yet we can’t thin out overgrown catchments. Why would anyone bother to conserve water when it is only scarce because of the sacred trees?
Because they don’t understand that they are alive due to environment and their survival will be in danger ,if environment will be destroyed.They don’t think that they are the part of a big ecosystem that is EARTH.
Most people are not very well educated and in general live in their own little circle, they cannot visualise the big picture. They are unable to comprehend the global effect of everyone throwing garbage out of car windows etc etc and therefore do not conern themselves with the effect it will eventually have on us all.
unfortunately most people cant think beyond themselves and right now – not until something goes wrong and it effects them will the sit up and notice!
There is a proverb in my country: "Any fish knows worth of sea until it is caught out by fisherman."
People started to understand the dearness of nature when dangerous results of polluting came out. Until that time we were/are sleeping.
Protests of "nature protectors" are still sounding as cradle song for those who are able to take control over polluting.

They don’t feel the effects, so they don’t get the problem.
There’s more clean water in the tap ….. for now.
There are plenty of consumables …. for now.
There’s still clean air …. for now.
They don’t care about the future, cause they can’t see the results … for now
Life has become too easy for us in the developed world. We don’t need to struggle to survive, so we behave like children, and expect someone else to clean up after us. We’ve come to expect to be able to behave however we wish, then hope to throw money at a technological solution to sort out our mess at some point in the future.
You don’t see people in poor countries wasting limited resources.
People want money and saving the environment costs money. If saving the environment saves money every corporation, factory, and everybody would save the environment. In China, or Japan some company had ways to help the environment like solar panels, and a air conditioner that keeps buildings cool with hardly any electric. They wanted to advise every company, or corporation to use that but since it costs a lot they do not use it.
