Who is doing the most to reduce global warming?
While the scientific community has a very high confidence that global warming is real and caused by human activities, the lay press has apparently identified no one group that has actually done the most to reduce greenhouse gases. If such a group exists, who are they? What specific steps have they taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions? Approximately how many tons of carbon dioxide (or equivalent greenhouse gases) emissions have they prevented, captured, or "sequestered?" And what objective sources can you cite to support your conclusions?
A related question is, what are the major barriers–social, political, economic, technological–holding back countries, non-governmental organizations, and other groups (and individuals) from achieving large-scale reductions and mitigations of greenhouse gases and related global warming effects?

They are the only ones who can create the equipment that reduces green house gas output from factories.
Compare the countries of Russia, China, India, Bangladesh, and Viet Nam to France, Canada, England, Norway, and the USA. You see that the more Capitalism, the cleaner the environment.

If you force already impoverished nations to "clean up their acts", you will do more harm then good. To make a plant environment friendly, they have to spend money. When they spend money, it will affect the employees.

In real terms, excepting western countries (who are the real culprits) no country is doing its worth in this regard.The Asian region is hopeless, because erosion in moral values have left the entire population into degraded human beings.They are not concerned of anything, except their personal gains.The leaders are corrupt and believe in only lip service. There is utter lack of awareness and nothing at this stage can correct it.Hence the ray of hope lies only in the perpetrators,who at least have started making a hue and cry of this.

They’ve been able to make the biggest recent reduction in CO2 emissions from the biggest source of CO2 emissions.
They definitely deserve the title of "doing the most to reduce global warming".
I would say France is the greenest at 80% nuclear power some of which goes to the UK. But also china has its green credentials, the damn they recently built is water powered electric generator. The are also doing various developments such as creating biodiesel by recycling waste kitchen oil. This currently being tested but if it does become used globally then its likely use is for the railways.
Shaklee Corporation of California, set the trend for Earth conservation more than 50 years ago. Now others are following their lead.
No one, there is no evidence to suggest that global warming ending at the turn of the century has anything to do with the activities of any human related changes in their habits.
Possibly Germany.
Their law encouraging development of alternative energy sources (basically by setting prices for it) is considered a model of thoughtful government action.
