Where can I recycle old electronics, and have it all be recycle?
Many companies that recycle old electronics are not truthful. They export it to China, and other foreign countries. There, it is not recycled, and mostly burned. Where can I recycle old electronics, and know that 100% of it is being recycled.
There are many things you can do with your old electronics. If you have a computer, donate it to a school, library or boys and girls club. They are always looking for computers and who knows, you may get tax cut for your generosity. If you are looking to toss it, call the city’s waste department and usually they will provide a site where you can properly dispose of them. Apple will recycle cells, computers and ipods. They dont have to be apple/mac brand. Some grocery stores have boxes at customer service to recycle old cell phones and it benefits local charities.
go to http://www.earth911.org and look for ewaste drop off locations in your area.
There are ewaste recyclers popping up all over the place, there are a lot of valuable metals in many electronics.
Obama changed that. When recycling electronics he has promised to fine ANYONE who exports. He established new guidelines for these items and it has already been adopted. This is BEFORE he’s even been inaugurated. It was recieved so well by the EPA. Supposedly you need to go to the EPA website and type in OBAMA.ELECTRONIC and it should ask you for your zip code. If no luck call your local recycle place and they’ll have the info.Some cities are already set up for curbside pick up.
