When “recycling” files on my computer….?
Question: When “recycling” files on my computer….?
I know they are still on the hard drive but are some automatically overwritten?
Because I found 2 really great movies when I was trying to restore deleted files but they were about a year old and I couldn’t find any recent deleted movies I watched then tossed away.
What is the reason for this?
I mean files renamed and their directories moved AFTER you “delete” them in the recycle bin

Everything in the recycle bin will eventually be overwritten. That’s why they call it the recycle bin. The space those files were using will be recycled for new files. Basically, the recycle bin is there so that if you delete something and realize 5 minutes later you still need it, you can get it back. You should never count on it being available more than 5 minutes in the future.
