It covers all the aspects that any homeowner would need to know and that would take looking in a few other sites just to get all the different information. PLUS it has books you can get that will detail the exact process of putting together a heating or energy system. I am in the process of making a heating system from it now. (takes about a week to do by yourself). Hope that helps!

The AltE Store is the perfect place for you. We will help you learn about solar, design the system, and sell you all the components you need to install it. You may need an electrician for some parts of the install, depending on your local codes.

A good place to start is some of our free videos at http://www.altestore.com/store/Books-Classes-Educational-Videos/Educational-Videos/c1138/. We’ve also got great books, my favorite is Photovoltaics: Design & Install http://www.altestore.com/store/Books-Classes-Educational-Videos/Solar-Electric-PV/Photovoltaics-Design-Install-Manual/p481/.
We do have some grid-tied packages, http://www.altestore.com/store/Kits-and-Package-Deals/Grid-Tied-Systems/c569/, but most are custom designed for each particular customer.
You should also consider solar water heating. It’s a much bigger bang for the buck, and can be an easier installation, and will be a lot less money, than solar electric. It can provide up to 75% of your hot water needs. http://www.altestore.com/store/Solar-Water-Heaters/Climate-freezes-Closed-Loop-Systems/Closed-Loop-Systems-for-1-4-People/Closed-Loop-PV-Powered-w-Tank/c1132/
There are great tax incentives and rebates available to help pay for both types of systems.
You definitely need a DIY step-by-step video guide, this is the best way to avoid expensive solutions, take a look: http://www.GreenHomemadePower.com
