What is your favorite green home cleaner?

I’m going to be placing an order from a place that has a pretty large selection and I’m looking for suggestions.

Thanks
I’m not a germ freak, I’m a can’t tolerate grease on my counters and glass stove freak, ha ha

  1. For general purpose cleaning I use a squirt of lavender castille soap, a cup of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. I buy baking soda in bulk and use it to sprinkle on rugs to deodorize, I put it in a powdered sugar shaker. I also put it in cloth bags in the refrigerator, you can find spice bags in the kitchen dept. they work well, I also use it on my stainless pots, stove top and oven when I bet baked on stuff. I spray with my general cleaner then sprinkle the baking soda let it sit for 15-30 minutes and it usually just wipes right off. I use a vinegar and water solution to wash windows. For my machines I use store bought products. I’ve been happy with both Ecover and Seventh Generation for my clothes and dishwashers. I use vinegar in the rinse cycle for both machines as well. If you line dry clothes vinegar works as a fabric softener, if you don’t have a place to put liquid fabric softener, you can buy the Downy ball and just use vinegar in it. I have switched to non chlorine bleach, I’m pretty sure I use Ecover, but I rarely use bleach so I didn’t pay much attention. I use Begely’s best for my laundry pre-treater I use Bon Ami and have for years to clean the toilets and bathtub. I use Mrs. Meyer’s clean day freshening spray instead of Fabreeze. It’s safe to spray on fabrics.

I have always been much more of a soap and water type of cleaner than a strong chemical type, so I have been very happy with my home recipes. I also suggest making a few changes at a time, it seems to be easier on the wallet and that way you don’t have a house full of products you don’t like.

    Steam, 100% safe
    A rag, rinsed and rung

Clean is an invention of the human mind. People who spray disenfectants into the air are really just afraid of their mortallity. How did we survive hundreds of thousands of years without "hand sanitizer"? The answer, Our imunity to disease is based on having been exposed to disease. There is no escape from microscopic "life". If we lived in a "clean" box for twenty years, we could never leave the box, the first common cold we get would kill us. I clean things so they will last a long time. Some of my tools are over 100 years old. Email me if you have any specific questions…
