What is most motivating for people to live green?

Sometimes, it seems people go off the handle in an effort to save the enviorment. There are many reasons to cut down on wast and such out there, but what is the main reason, what’s most important? Future generations, saving oceans, stopping global warming, or something else?

  1. Giving back it will give you a sense of well being when I ride in a hybrid I know I am in good company because the people I am with care on a greater level. Also how selfish to destroy the planet if we don’t stop soon all of bangladesh will be under sea and I have some friends there. Our efforts have been shown to have a positive affect

  2. There is no compelling reason to go green. It is the height of arrogance to think that mere humanity can do anything to destroy or save the earth. That is why I bought a large SUV – with no guilt.

  3. I think I get where you are coming from. I really think you are likely to get a different answer from each person actually.

We all have a motivating factor behind our behaviour. I write about safe versus unsafe products and have a pretty good idea about my own reasons for living as green as possible.

So I will jot down a few reasons that I am aware of.

My main reason: I just really appreciate nature and I think it provides beautifully when left alone to do the job. However nature is pushed, prodded and greedily exploited: I think that is so totally wrong.

We are not owners of the planet – simply residents here and I think we have a responsibility to care for this place. I do the best I can to use safe eco friendly products in my home, I walk when it is convenient and appropriate to do so. I switch of power when not in use and I am sensible with water etc.

I don’t go to extremes – I don’t enforce anyone else to – but my whole working & personal life evolves around helping others learn how to care for their bodies, homes and surroundings in a safer way. by showing respect for nature and its resources.

    - some choose greener living because it is physically safer than using synthetic, man made chemicals that are loaded into the so called SAFE products we have in our homes today.

    - Some respect nature and feel that it is their duty to care for it and protest etc. to help make the environmental concerns a bigger concern for everyone.

    - Others may just think it is a cool thing at the time – an image thing and yet it rarely goes beneath the surface to generate real long lasting change. (I have seen this quite a lot unfortunately)

    - Others care about the welfare of their families and have a wholesome view of life and health etc and recognize that nature has it far more right than man can get it.

    - Some fear for the future and look to making change so that generations to come have a home.

So each of those facets are exactly that – facets or viewpoints that reflect a similar motivation really.

Well going green is certainly better than black – it is healthier, happier and more hopeful
