wind,,,,sails, wind powered motors,
solar perhaps ……solar rechargeable batteries…….
depends what you need to use fuel to power….car? machinery? house fuel? have seen some machinery run off trash
hybrids…..electric and gas….like a small 3 cylinder gas engine….high mpg….

your question is vague, so i will assume you are talking about solar panels vs alcohol made from corn vs alcohol made with sugarcane.
the best solar panels you can buy today are about 40% efficient. and they are very expensive.
sugarcane is more efficient than corn when making ethyl alcohol.
the book "alcohol can be a gas" by david blume is a great place to start if you interested in making alcohol fuel.

I think the three you mention are good alternative fuel!

Alternative fuels are a joke. Look at it this way. Take all your alternative fuels and add there gallons together . Will it equal even 1% of our present needs?

In terms of net energy, either biodiesel from jatropha or ethanol from sugarcane, at least now. Perhaps biodiesel from algae may become more efficient than the above in the future.
SInce solar is not really a fuel, I didn’t consider it.

nuclear making electricity to run RV. This system is 80% efficient. Alchohols are less than 15%, H2 45%, solar is also 80%, it is 5 times more expensive than the rest
