  1. Pretty much anything disposable that can be replaced with a reusable version is good. But it has to be ultra-convenient and of similar cost or people won’t buy it. It also has to be fast and easy to clean without wasting too much water.

The item must be truly durable too. One problem I have is so-called reusable items that are made so cheap that they really don’t last through very many uses.

  2. People like things made from organic cotton, baby nappies, grocery bags, even canvas school bags and I know there is market for those already because I’ve seen them sold in shops and online.

Menstrual pads are IMHO not a good idea, I certainly wouldn’t want to wash them and cloth just doesn’t do a good job of absorbing and keeping in liquid. There are organic cotton disposable pads on the market already.

I have a few cloth grocery bags and would consider getting a dining cloth and napkins but I find the price of organic cotton items is too expensive for me.

All the things you mention are fabric items and mostly things that are currently mass/machine produced – would it be possible to turn your talents elsewhere? Handmade to me means quality custom-made items, so perhaps you could do personalised gifts, like customised toys made from natural materials?

I don’t think I’ve been very helpful but I wish you the best!
