what does TAU and RE mean in regards to climate and global warming and temperature and such?

TAU is Tel Aviv University in Israel. Professor (and alumnus) Hudi Benayahu, head of TAU’s Porter School of Environmental Studies, says that soft coral is dying because of global warming.
RE probably means Renewable Energy. I tried Googling "RE global warming," but got nothing.
It means Earthlings in the Goauld language (Star Gate – SG1)
A recent BBC report stated "that soft coral is dying because of global warming."
However, (the report went on) scientists have discovered that when overfishing and in particular dredging or trawling over coral reefs is stopped, the coral reefs recover!!

Stop damaging a reef (akin to ploughing a field), leave it alone, it all grows back!!
Does one need to be a professor to work this out?
