What Bible texts support some GW-opponents' beliefs that God will never allow humans to impact climate?
In talking with Evangelical Christians, I have found that many say they are sure that human-caused-Global Warming advocates and scientists are wrong because "God would never allow puny humans to have power sufficient to modify the climate. Man’s powers are too small to impact the climate of the earth." But what Bible passages are used to support this claim? Or, is this simply a "doctrine" which Christians believe in because of general assumptions about the nature of God as Creator and God as the one maintaining the earth in its present form?
I have heard some say it is based on God’s promise never to flood the earth again. But opposition to global warming has nothing to do with religion. The leaders of Europe’s biggest churches, Catholicism, and Orthodoxy, both support measures to reduce co2 emissions. I suspect that many Evangelical Christians in America are right leaning, and right leaning people are more likely to appose global warming.
Good question
I had been raised to believe that god gave the Earth unto man, and made man the steward of the Earth.
Sadly the bible was collated and edited by the the same group that brought us agw.
The bible is a book written by Humans not the divine force of creation, every time you try and find facts about god written by humans you will go wrong. It’s much better to figure things out yourself as evolution intended.
You’ve not had a single discussion much less many with any christian, who should have been taught that God created man in his image and gave us dominion of the earth, who believes god either didn’t give us enough power or would intervene to stop us puny humans from destroying the climate.
God gave us the power that he has, the power of mind and free will, we can do anything we want, even blow up the earth if we want to. It all the nuclear bombs we can actually do it many times
