I’ve heard putting a brick in the tank of the toilet will save water when it flushes.

A cool unusual one I think is gorilla gardening. It’s when one or more people secretly plant seeds in land that doesn’t belong to them. Sometimes it’s seen fruit, veggies, or flowers growing in really obscure places like roadsides, cemeteries, uncared for private gardens, etc.

Wear tights not stockings and always buy the same colour. When a hole appears in one leg, cut off the holey leg just above the leg. Do the same with every pair that gets a hole in one leg. You will now have odd tights, that can be worn one over the other to create a pair of tights, and with the double layer over the tummy – help on the mid-drift control aswel. The legs with holes in, cut into small pieces, can be used for cushion stuffing – great comfy beds for dogs / cats. Old pillow cases can be used as the outer cover.
Old single quilts, folded into quarters make wonderful comfy dog beds – and if you use the single cover, they can be washed as normal.
Large clear plastic lemonade bottles cut in half make good propagators for plants
Compost bags cut to size and use right side in make good hanging basket liners.

Putting a brick in your toilet tank will save water because there will be less water in the tank. However, this won’t make much difference. If you really want to save water, urinate in the shower drain and don’t use any water to flush it down. Even so, doing this wouldn’t make that much of a difference environment-wise.
It uses such vast amounts of water to produce beef that you save more water by not eating beef than you do by not bathing.
I’m editing an article I wrote about reducing greenhouse gas emissions right now. Here’s my list as it stands (mid-edit):
1. Don’t Have Children
2. Don’t Eat Meat
3. Don’t Eat Predatory Fish
4. Don’t Drive a Car
5. Don’t Fly
6. Don’t Use Heating Oil
7. Reduce Heating Usage
8. Use Less Electricity
9. Generate Electricity from Solar and Wind Power
10. Use Less Natural Gas
11. Don’t Buy Manufactured Goods (Reduce)
12. Buy Used Goods (Reuse)
13. Recycle
14. Conserve Existing Trees
15. Plant Trees
Unfortunately, there’s no easy tricks that can do much to help the environment. In fact, some of the tricks that you’ll hear about electricity are just plain wrong. Leaving your heat on when you’re not home does NOT save electricity.

When you change your dogs or cats water bowl pour that extra water into your plants instead of wasting it pouring down a drain.
