What are some things my office can do on green/eco-day?

We’re going to have a monthly green day. Besides taking the stairs instead of the elevator and packing our lunches, what else can we do?

What are some incentives? Free coffee for wearing green?

  1. you can start by not turning on your light in your office for the day, and maybe not switch on your air conditioner. also you can start a recycling initiative at work, by having separate trash cans, one for paper, metals, organic materials etc…

    good luck and go green!

  2. have you stay home to conserve energy that day

  3. What a waste of time.

  4. You can go to work riding a bike(depending on how far away you are). Have a huge recycling thing in the front lawn and have people come and dump off their recyclables. Turn off all the computers and electricity and only use few lights. Only use paper and use BOTH sides. The free coffee one just isn’t good because you use up a lot of electricity to make a cup of coffee. A coffee make alone uses up 300 watts! So that would be a bad idea.

  5. Wear green.
On the weekend closest to the day, go to plant trees on a nearby forest (if you have any).
Don’t use as much electricity that day.
Don’t print anything unless is really needed.
Everyone use a carpool that day.
