how is algae a viable fuel alternative?
how is using a living organism for a good alternative fuel source? i have to plead ignorance on this issue. someone care to edumacate me?

Please answer the following questions according to LPG
(Liquefied/Liquified Petroleum Gas) as an alternative fuel for
vehicles. Please give your answers from the perspective of a
Scientist/Engineer. Give as much detail as possible and list the

? How does the vehicle work? What are the parts? How is it
different from/similar to an internal combustion engine?(keep this
simple)
? What is the fuel? How is the fuel produced? Is there any
energy used in the production of the fuel? If so, what is the source
of this energy?
? What are the by-products from this fuel source, and does
this pose a problem?
? Map the energy conversions involved (all the way back to the
original energy source).
? Discuss the efficiency of the vehicle.
? Include any relevant chemical equations.
Best alternative fuel source?
Since gasoline prices are going to crush the American economy, what would the best alternative fuel source? Hydrogen’s pretty cheap, you’d just get like 5 miles to the gallon. Ethanol would be a NO. That’d just lead to massive corn famines and government regulation on how much gas we could use (or else), which would be communism. Nuclear power would be very effective, but there’s always evil people who would harvest the materials for bombs. I heard fuel cells were very efficient and effective. What’s your opinion?

Right now the water cycle is a closed system. If hydrogen became a fuel source, how would that throw off the ecological balance of water in the environment?
Even if we recover hydrogen from water, is it a closed system or does it have leaks.
