what is most efficient alternative fuel?
sugarcane? corn? solar?
in terms of take least amount of energy and can be used efficiently as an alternative energy source
Why isn't the US investing in Sugarcane as an alternative fuel source?
Brazil has been growing and converting sugarcane for over 20 years now. The energy produced from the sugarcane is 7 times greater than that of corn.
Maybe it’s our climate? Brazil and Hawaii are both humid but so is a lot of states. Thoughts?

Has anyone seen the news broadcast about the massive tons of Algae floating in Chinese waters, and how many volunteers are helping to remove it, for the Summer Olympics in Beijing?
I wonder if any of this could be used to develop alternative fuels in addition to ethanol-based gasoline. Some countries are already using sugar-based ethanols and corn-based fuel. Why not this Algae, there is a huge surplus of it?
Is it theoretically and chemically possible?
