Does converting a diesel engine to burn both fuel and vegetable oil significantly reduce the emissions?

Posted in Green Q&A | 4 comments

I just bought a great vehicle that has a 4 cylinder diesel engine that gets great fuel economy but I would like to do more. I have already had it into the shop to help me reduce the occasional smoking that it does but I have seen a few people who have converted the vehicle to burn BOTH diesel and veggie oil. Dose anyone know if this alternative fuel will actually reduce my individual emissions? Are there any recourses out there to do the conversion myself? Thanx!!

The technology is availble and the outcry has asked for it…so why haven’t they started? The conversion would take quite a long time, more than enough time to create jobs for all the oil refinery workers….I mean they’re already adding cars that run on H2o, ethenol so…is it the 6 billion dollars spent each month on war?

And where can I find concrete documentation if it will run on one? Also, any idea of how much conversion for certain alternative fuels might cost for a 2000 Buick Century?
