Why do scientists think burning fossil fuels changes the climate?

Posted in Green Q&A | 10 comments

I’m doing homework and a paper about "The Carbon Cycle" asks:
Millions of years ago, organisms that didn’t totally decompose were changed into coal, oil, and natural gas. These are now our supply of fossil fuels. This stored carbon is realeased into the air as carbon dioxide when the fuels are burned. Explain why some scientists believe this is causing our climate to change?

Thanks

How to create a steady flow of carbon dioxide in a controlled environment?

Posted in Green Q&A | 2 comments

I need to do an experiment on the effects of Carbon Dioxide on the growth of ragweed.

Is there a way to create a steady flow or a pattern of releases of carbon dioxide in a greenhouse, or any controlled environment that is not to large?
Okay, I’ve determined that combining sulfuric acid and chalk also prduce carbon dioxide, now I just need to know how I would measure the percent of CO2 in the air.

Why does the green movement seem to care mostly about the "carbon footprint" and ignore other issues?

I have noticed that the green movement is crazy about reducing the carbon footprint. What is so bad about Carbon dioxide? What about other environmental issues like the oil spill, or air pollution, or water pollution? Can’t the green movement address those issues with more force?

Btw, I don’t believe in man made global warming. It’s a man made hoax.

Does anyone realize that global climate change would and has occurred with or without Man?

Of course we have an effect on climate change. Just breathing emits carbon dioxide. (a green house gas) Every plant and or animal has some effect on global climate change. Oh yes, and so does the Sun and the Moon(tides) and volcanoes, etc.
