Recommendations for conservation work in the amazons?
i am taking a gap year in 2009 and want to take part in a variety of conservation projects, mainly in the Amazons of Brazil, but also general travelling.
Has anyone done any projects there, or any abroad they would really reccomend.
I want to do a lot of hands on work, and love animals, so an animal sanctuary would also be great.
I only really want advise from people who have done projects, as you can never be certain.

Is there any worthwhile animal conservation projects that are not a scam?
All the ones Ive been looking at have cost hundreds of pounds and seem to be more like holidays than actual volunteering. Is there any projects abroad that actually help animals in a real way?
