Why should I give any credit to the scientific community when they have been wrong on climate predictions?

In the 1970s, the big deal was global cooling.
In the 1980s, it was acid rain.
In the 1990s, it was global warming.
Now it is climate change.

Not only that, but we cannot predict weather for more than 7 days out.

What effect will global warming have on invading killer bees?

I was wondering what the effects of global warming would be on the swarms of killer bees that are going to be invading sometime soon. Has any research been done into this question? Or were the bees all killed by acid rain, or fried by the hole in the ozone before they could get here?

Why is green energy referred to as alternative energy?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to call it "green," "clean," or "renewable" energy? Just what exactly is green energy an alternative to? Is it an alternative to global warming, dependency on fossil fuels, deforestation, depletion of the earth’s resources, extinction of several species, and acid rain? Is it an alternative to fighting wars over oil, oil lobbyists trying to run the show, and large corporations getting tax breaks and large subsidies? It doesn’t sound like an alternative to me; it sounds like a solution. What do you think?
