If civilization refuses to take action because of climate change, which is probable, what exactly will happen?

O.K. this question is for the geniuses out there who are capable of forward thinking. I would like a realistic scenario of what will happen if climate change continues without human action to stop pollution and greenhouse gasses.

  1. it wont be sudden or dramatic, it will be a slow change. desertification will increase as well as water shortages in Africa ,Central America and northern china. there will also be water shortages in places that rely on melt water such as Tibet. as these water shortages and desertification begin to result in the loss of farmland, food shortages will follow.having more energy in weather systems will result in more sevear stormes floods and hurricanes. there will be a loss of permafrost in cold areas altering ecosystems and corral reefs may be completely be destroyed. oceans will also rise (probably by nothing dramatic), this will cause low lying county’s such as Burma to have problems.

PS the day after tomorrow although entertaining but it is not at all factuial.

  2. i advise you to watch 2 films.
    1 Day after tommorro.
    2 FLOOD.

both quite good showing us what it could be like if we do not stop global warming.

  3. It will continue to melt ice caps and possibly lead to ice age, has to do with temp of ocean, etc. Nobody is smart enough to tell you whats going to happen in the future, though…

  4. the earth warms and cools in a cyclic fashion for millions of years nothing we do can or will speed or slow this trend no matter how mant politically driven "scientists" we throw at this percieved problem

  5. the usual will happen:
    - One option is that there will not be a climate change, and that will cause a lot of criticism, bad mouthing and name calling.
    - Another option is that climate change will come upon us gradually, so at certain point of time in the future a panic button will be pushed and we will try to block the effects of climate change, for much more money than it would cost to take action now, and of course there will be a lot of criticism, bad mouthing and name calling.
    - Another option is that climate change will come upon us suddenly and fiercely, so bad that it will be like a global tsunami everywhere, that will make us helpless in the beginning, and dead in the end, but there will not be any criticism, bad mouthing and name calling, the world would become very quiet, except for the winds.

  6. i suggest plant more trees to help curb pollution.
Cows and volcano’s cause most of the pollution however when this happens the o-zone hole opens to a larger size to release the over amount.
The sun controls the temperature and nothing man can do to change that.
The ice caps are not melting i suggest you do some hard research and get away from the fairy tail web sites and books that so called experts have produced.

  7. NOTHING YOU FOOL = A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO IT DIDNT EXIST

  8. It’s not happening. Pollution control including reducing green house gases is a multi billion dollar business in the USA alone.

Action is being taken. Why would anyone believe otherwise?

  9. ‘Life will go on, politicians will move on too other ‘end of world’ predictions, and that;s about it.

  10. The Earth will get cooler again in its next natural cycle.
