If a Changing Climate is the Norm, Why is Climate Change a Problem?

The climate is always changing. The Climate can never be the same every day, or the same the same day each year. Changes are normal, expected, and natural.

And if the climate isn’t cooling, then it’s warming and if the climate isn’t warming, it’s cooling.

So if a changing climate is normal, expected, and natural, why are people freaked when the climate changes?

  1. I don’t understand that either. We have warm ups and cool downs, yes I believe in that kind of Climate Change. Have you noticed tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, droughts, and everything that occurs is blamed on GW or climate change, when these activities have been going on for years.
I read an article today stating that Antarctic ice is increasing because of a hole in the Ozone layer, this contradicts the 1980′s theory of the hole in the Ozone layer causing ice to melt…
    Well, which is it?
    Here;s the link

And notice also that the msm shows these graphs about tornadoes increasing, they start it out from the 1950′s on up to today, here’s a little secret, the 1930′s had more tornadic activity than today.

Those are just a couple of links, but google 1930′s tornadoes, and you will be surprised.
"And if the climate isn’t cooling, then it’s warming and if the climate isn’t warming, it’s cooling."
Sounds like the climate is normal… as it should be, but if sunspot activity don’t pick up, then we will cool more.
Don’t get me wrong, sure there is climate change, but not like it’s exaggerated… Going from the Medieval Warming Period to the Little Ice Age is a type of change in Climate, not what data predicts, data is useless and I don’t bother with it, they can twist it any way they want to make an illusion.

  2. Some professional con men and speculators figured out how to make a lot of fast money off the idea.

    Two of them are:

    George Soros

    David Suzuki

  3. Technically, the climate is the same–its the weather and seasons that changes. The climate should generally be the same everywhere, but it isn’t. We are causing the Earth to overheat, which it would do on its own, but we are making it go even more quickly.

  4. Kizzy is a pretty good example of what you get when you spread propaganda and misinformation around. Alarmists should feel shame when they read her answer but they won’t.

  5. Long-term change in a particular direction and outside local norms could outpace the rate of adaptation of species, causing extinction, particularly of higher life forms (which do not reproduce or adapt as fast)

  6. Because we haven’t had 6 billion people on the planet before.

  7. Because, a sudden change in any environment could kill plant and animal species rapidly without giving them time to adapt.

The possibility exists that global famines may occur from droughts.

The biggest thing is that we don’t know what all the possibilities could be.

  8. I’m not freaked out. I would like some warming though.. just a little… it’s been too cold.

People are freaking out because mystics have convinced people they have crystal balls, are deliberately trying to freak people out.

They’ve learned from the Ehrlich model that they can get rich and score chicks by being town criers of doom — and that apparently you won’t be condemned later, because everyone will be just a little bit embarassed that they fell for it.

  9. It depends on the scale of the climate change.

If the climate suddenly warmed 100C tomorrow, then I’m sure you’d agree that this would be a bad thing. Your argument that ‘climate always changes, therefore there’s nothing to worry about’ looks a bit silly.

If the climate only changes by 0.01C then there’s almost certainly not a problem.

It’s obvious that the scale of warming is what matters, and impact reports by various groups (with the IPCC collating the most data) show that the projected warming is likely to be net-negative for humanity.

Look up impact papers on googlescholar, or http://www.ipcc.ch , or AXA’s report ‘the effect of climate change on small business in the UK’ report, or the Stern Report.

  10. As Obama’s Chief of staff so eloquently stated…."never waste a crisis".
So helpful these "crisis’s" can be at manipulating the public that "wagging the dog" is the number one way of effecting policy change with the least amount of resistance. $3 trillion Stimulus anyone? Chicken little stated the "Sky is falling" when an apple fell and hit him on the head. Al Gore’s apple was Hurricane Katrina. Al Gore certainly didn’t waste that crisis…he even got a movie out of it. No sir Al Gore is not wasting this "crisis" he helped to perpetuate. Want proof? Just check his bank account. Take some science add alot of politics and money and you have what we see here with the AGW "crisis". Which is the way they want it. Keep em’ scared and you can get what ever you want!
