How can I work on a conservation in Africa? What exactly is the journey to get there?
My ultimate dream job would be to raise orphaned animals (esp. lions) and reintroducing them back into the wild.
Do you think getting a major in Zoology would be my first step?
Please work on a degree in Zoology and Environmental Science. You could gain experience by volunteering at places like the following:
http://marinemammalcenter.org/
I’ve worked there for over 12 years and I have saved thousands of creatures.
You could then apply your experience to a project in Africa!
Yes, getting a degree in zoology, wildlife management, etc. would be your first step. You also would need some hands on experience which you might be able to find by volunteering at a local zoo, wildlife rehab, or animal sancuary. You should also get involved with some projects (seasonal work) while still in school to make some connections and for more experience.
