Car with good mileage or alternative fuel

I’m looking for a new car, but don’t want to spend money on all of the gas, so are there any very good Hybrid vehicles or cars that can run on alternative fuels for a decent price?

Hybrids over the life of the vehicle usually end up costing more than conventional cars (due to the higher purchase price).

Diesel do tend to save money (although there are pollution issues with them) over the life time of the car.

Most other alternative fuels like LPG and CNG are only viable if taxes are lower on the alternatives.

Your best bet would probably be to buy a small car with a reasonably low drive cycle fuel consumption figure (just don’t expect to get it in the real world).

the cheapest overall is a toyota yaris or Honda fit. the added cost of a hybrid will but fuel for the life of the car. If we can get the little diesel engines here from europe, that would be better.

Run from ethanol cars. Biodisel will always cost more than regular diesel/

If you only drive 50 miles ata time, look for cheap electricts. Hydrogen is not a fuel, its an expensive battery system, stay away from the hype.

buy a car with low consumption and combine it with electric bike for local use.

buy a used prius around 16-17 grand under warrenty after a week you’ll learn the pedal on how to get 58mpg and youll have a roomy car with great gas milage

a yaris, fit or other small car offers the best deal…dollar for dollar…hybreds cost more to buy and it take 6 yrs or more to make up the differmce [that a prius] others take longer!!!

Buy a used car that runs on natural gas (methane). It’s cleaner and cheaper to run than any hybrid out there. I have 2 of them and they’re great! I never buy gasoline now, and I can fill up for under $10. Check out my sources below and see if one would work for you. Not every place has a filling station for cng yet, but if you have one around, go for it. Best kept secret around.
