Can you put pubic hair in the recycle bin?

Basically I cleaned my whole house yesterday and found quite a lot of pubic hair (most in the bathroom or bedroom). Recycling is very important to me, as it should be to everyone, so I just want to know if its OK to put it in the recycle bin?

It says on the side the normal stuff (cardboard, paper, glass etc) but no mention of hair.

Any one know the rules on pubic hair? I know the council are quite strict if you put the wrong stuff in the bins.

Thanks in advance, James

  1. No put it in a compost pile or if you do not have one put it in the grass it will decompose.

  2. The hair might be but the crabs are not. Save the hair to stuff a mattress.

  3. No sorry mate, had the same problem myself, you see because Pubic Hair is a natural substance, eventually it will degrade into the earth and decompose, I reccomend buying a composter, it will allow you to take the odd peices of fruit skins etc and Pubic hair and turn them into compost – true recycling!

  4. The best thing to do with ANY hair is put it outside for the birds. Many birds will use hair of many types, including human AND animal. There are even birds who use strictly HORSE hair. Yep, for real. Lou

  5. There are two thoughts on this matter – any fur, hair, etc. can be placed within reach of birds that are known to use this medium as nesting material OR you may simply shave or use a good depilatory on the hirsute creature causing the the shedding problem in the first place. Hair, in and of itself, is ultimately biodgradable.

  6. uh gross!
