Can you get paid to recycle a television?

I have a 32 inch television (its about 5 years old) that broke on me. I ended up buying a new one so I would like to recycle it…..Is it possible to recycle it and get paid? Like, aluminum cans? I am also in California.

  1. As far as my relatively uneducated knowledge goes, no.
The best you can generally do is recycling it for free. Some places have disposal fees, because of the toxic substances in the older TVs. You can, of course, just put it in your trash, but that is not responsible.
Your local sanitation department and recycling centers would be the best places to call.

    Good luck!

  2. You can, i believe. But its better if u just do it for free.
