Depends on how you want to argue the topic. Here is a possible thesis for someone who supports it:
Recycling is an important way to contribute to the protection of the environment and already strained natural resources. Using materials already available and processed saves energy, space, and limited natural resources.
Now, if you don’t like recycling, you could argue that:
Recycling is a way to make ourselves feel better without actual meaningful value to the environment. Processing spent materials is just as costly as producing them, or can even be costlier, if they happen to be contaminated, as in recycling plastic containers from pesticides. While the idea is appealing, the facts on the ground are such that many of the communities invovled in recycling dump their carefully sorted plastics, papers, cardboard and glass straight into the landfills anyway, because they have neither the capacity nor the resources to reuse these materials.
