Can I recycle this bottle and aluminum foil?

I have this little empty bottle of Burt’s Bees blemish stick and I don’t know whether I should recycle it or throw it away, it’s clear glass and it feels thick like a bottle of soda.

Oh and about the aluminum foil can I just throw it in the recycling bin?

  1. Obviously no for the bottle because its glass not paper or plastic but yes for the foil.

  2. Recycle it all!!

  3. Aluminum foil is definitely eligible. As for the plastic bottle, check the number in the triangle and use the following guide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastic_recycling#Plastic_identification_code

  4. not the alluminum

  5. go to earth911.com

  6. Where I live in SC you can recycle both those items. So I guess it sort of depends on what your area offers in the way of recycling.
We take our recycle to a local recycling drop of center and they accept almost anything. Plastic, cardboard, soda cans, veggie cans, glass – clear and colored, paper, lumber, aluminum foil, computer and electronic items – almost any and everything that can be recycled.

So again I would say yes, both the glass bottle and the aluminum foil "can" be recycled it just depends on if "your" local recycling center will take them.

  7. of course!

  8. Previous poster said it all… depends on what’s available where you live. I work for a local recycling company and we can take any glass bottles for recycling along with the aluminum foil if it is clean… no melted cheese or other foods in it etc. If you take you recycling to igloos, contact the owner and they’ll let you know.
