Alternative Fuels : we have an overabundance of garbage why are we not burning it instead into clean fuel?

We are burying garbage at a massive rate. Its on barges being sent to other landfills in the country to take care of. Beer, pit grease from Fast food chains, pig waste (methane gas), Metal, clean burning fusion engines but would need to be computer controlled, etc. What do you all think or contribute to this answer. Thanks.

  1. Actually we do do that right now. Check out "Waste Management" — it’s a garbage company in California. Waste powers more than 1-million homes in California. (Around 10% of the state.)

    Check it out….

  2. Until that becomes economically feasible, rather than JUST environmentally or morally feasible, it won’t happen… on anything except a small scale…

  3. money money money…big business and the mind over matter syndrome…as long as they are making money they don’t mind that we don’t matter

  4. Many places do burn garbage to make energy. Burning garbage emmits lead vapors, mercury, cadmium, dioxins, chlorine,…. None of which is good for anyone.
