Does anybody know where I can get an article from the news or practically anywhere that says algae is an alternative fuel. 10 points to the best and most credible article!

I think yea. see there are already algae farms being used and it is relatively simple to make the algae create fuel and that is by simply tricking it into thinking the seasons are changing. Scientists also found a great species of Algae in which 60% of its body weight is fuel. I believe if we don’t start using fuel from algae soon we will have to start walking. Some ideas like hybrids are good but they still require fuel and no matter how hard we try to save fuel even by reducing the amount needed by 90% it still won’t last forever and that could really cause problems with our grandson’s futures. Also cars aren’t the only things using fuel. Industries will still need them and I am pretty sure that making air plane electric/ fuel hybrids. Algae could last pretty much for ever!

you can try a company web page I refer to when trying to preach some sense into the green technology idiots that want to turn the automotive companies on their ear.
Valcent Technologies makes…..effectively…….vegitable oil fuels that can be used at alternatives. We have all heard of deisel cars being converted for using vegitable oil. There’s a few small companies, one in Los Angeles that i’ve seen media pieces done on.
Valcent claims they have the process worked out, its viable, not just some pipe dream. And with a little tweaking on the formula, they can make different grades…so that deisel cars might not be the only thing that can run on their fuels.
It eliviates the problems of wasting food ie corn to make the stuff, its one of the fastest growning plant life on the planet that’s abundant and its proven to work.
No more trying to turn the car companies on their ears, no requirements to retool or retrain them. Just the use of more deisel engines…which I know the market for deisels in America has been weak in the past, but with this kind of technology available, I don’t see why that should be a weak future.

LOL Algae has already reached the status of an alternative fuel. The first plane was powerd using algae power. The article comes from the British Telegraph.

algae is not a fuel. NOW, the oil removed from it can be made into a fuel. However, there is not one single commercial maker of fuel from algea today. In the next ten years we may get there.
